Hi there! I’m Shaula.
I’m a Certified Personal Trainer and Licensed Massage Therapist in beautiful South Austin! You might be wondering how I ended up here…
Oh so many years ago, I was born in Houston, but spent a bulk of my childhood in the Cleveland area of Ohio (go Browns!). I made my way back to Texas to attend Texas State University-San Marcos. For us older folks, that would be Southwest Texas State University! I graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice-Corrections, minoring in Social Work. For right around a decade I worked with local law enforcement for the State of Texas before finding my way to a career in all things health and wellness!
In 2009, after some pretty major life changes, I moved myself to Austin. I pretty quickly realized that I only knew one person here and had very little ‘balance’ in my life. I got the wild hair to get myself a Personal Trainer at 24 Hour Fitness. It would get me out of the house, active, and *somewhat* social. The introvert in me screamed ‘no!’, but I knew something needed to be done to get me somewhere other than the house or the office.
Working on my newfound fitness goals helped me realize that I needed to be more intentional about how I address my overall wellness, including the need to find a profession that was more suited to my desire to serve others. I decided to head back to school so that I could become a trainer like the one that I’d witnessed changing my entire life.
In September of 2011, I started my career as a Personal Trainer at that very same 24 Hour Fitness! Within a couple years, I was a Master Trainer there and loving every single day that I got to show all of my clients that our goal should be so much bigger than surviving—we should all be THRIVING!
Five years later, I decided that it was time to venture out on my own—be the “#girlboss” that I’d been day dreaming about. So after careful overthinking, vision boards, pep talks, and more overthinking, I established Limitless Training Solutions, LLC in 2016.
Through the wonderful relationships that I’d cultivated as a personal trainer with peers, clients and friends, I was able to migrate my training business under that umbrella and have worked as an independent personal trainer ever since! Scary? Yes. Worth it? Definitely!
Then March 2020 came along. If nothing else, it gave us all time to pause in the uncertainty and decide what we found most important. As it turns out, for me, it was still being of service to others. I decided to make lemonade out of lemons and opted to, once again, head back to school! In February 2022, after completing the required 500-hour program at the Lauterstein-Conway Massage School, I became a Licensed Massage Therapist.
Along my own wellness journey, massage therapy has played such an important role in my rehab, recovery, and mental health. In a time where isolation and human interaction was so limited for so long, I realized that it was obvious what I should do. Now I get to give the best of both— personal training and massage therapy.
Today, I work with clients that range from post physical therapy rehab to weight loss to performance. The longer I work as a trainer, the more I realize that the needs of each ‘type’ of client is so similar. What is different resides in how we get there. I hope that marrying Personal Training and Massage Therapy can allow them to compliment each other and give my clients the very best results.
When I’m not working in the gym, I do practice what I preach with my own wellness goals! I am extremely close to my family. I am blessed with an amazing husband, Rich. Being that he is a Medically Retired Marine, he has opened a special place in my heart to the veteran community. As you may have noticed, I do offer discounts to that community and am always willing to gift my services to charitable organizations.
We try to spend as much of our time as we can outside with our two dogs, Jax and Cadence. Our house manager—our cat, Powder—makes sure that we all stay in line. I credit my faith in Christ with all that I have accomplished this far, and hope that I can serve my community with all the skills that I have so that we can all thrive.
May you all find healing and hope in your fitness and wellness journeys! I would be honored to serve you!
